If you enjoy ZZ Top, Allman Brothers Band, or any straightforward 4/4 rock
and roll band, the Electric Jelly's: DEMO CD should be in your collection. On the other hand Blue Number Nine's CD explores Funky R&B grooves mixed with a little soul. This CD will relax you after a stressful day at work. In fact, you might want to put on your dancing shoes. Cool Baby, Real Cool! The Fam'ly Jewels is fronted by the father and son duo or Eddie and Jayson Denise who were featured as band of the month by Budweiser in this publication. Their CD titled "Father and Son" blends contemporary rock with pop. For example, "The Equation" has some reminiscent to Yes vocals, while "Hearts Under The Wheel" has CSNY feel. SuperHyperMost would want you to imagine what a band would sound like if George Clinton and LL Cool J joined The Smashing Pumpkins or if Sly from Sly and the Family Stones replaced Kurt Cobain in Nirvana. What the hell does that mean? I have no idea! All I know is that they seem to be a good old get down enjoyable funk band. Finally, Slick Pelt's "XXX Rodeo" CD is Rockabilly at it's best. This 13 song gem a la Stray Cats left me wanting more. Can't wait to see these guys live so I have an excuse to dust off my cowboy hat and boots and join them on the range. Good job guys! |
